Acceptance of terms

By visiting this site or downloading CrashAtlas through it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

The service

This website describes CrashAtlas — a desktop app and a bootable USB diagnostic tool for Windows PCs — and links to where you can download them. The software itself is distributed from and licensed through its source repository; check there for the license that actually governs your use of the software, which these website terms don't override.

Provided as-is, honestly

CrashAtlas is actively in development. As documented throughout this site — see About and News — some components are further along than others, and every verification claim distinguishes what's been unit-tested, typechecked, or confirmed on real hardware. The website and the software are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Run diagnostics and apply fixes at your own judgment — the app is designed to ask before changing anything, but you're always the one deciding.

Acceptable use

Don't use this site to do anything unlawful, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to it or its infrastructure, or to interfere with anyone else's use of it.

Intellectual property

The CrashAtlas name and the content of this website belong to their respective owners. The CrashAtlas source code is governed by the license in its repository, not by these website terms.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CrashAtlas isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or the software it links to, including damage to data or hardware from running diagnostic tests. The bootable USB tool's disk test is deliberately read-only for exactly this reason — see Bootable USB Tool.

Governing law

[Jurisdiction not yet finalized.] This section will name the specific governing law once decided — check back or ask via the contact page if this matters for your use case.
