Understand every
Windows crash.
CrashAtlas reads the .dmp file Windows already wrote and explains the bugcheck in plain language — no WinDbg required. A details mode and a WinDbg-style Debug Console sit underneath for when you want the raw technical picture.
v0.1.0 · actively in development · source on GitHub
One suite, built for both sides of a crash.
Desktop app
Runs on the machine that's having problems. Finds your .dmp files, explains the bugcheck, identifies the likely faulting driver, watches live hardware health, and offers guided, never-automatic fixes.
Bootable USB tool
Boots on the same PC entirely outside Windows. Useful when Windows won't boot at all, or when you want a deeper hardware check than a running OS can safely perform.
Every health signal, watched in real time.
An elevated sensor helper reads full detail; decline the elevation prompt and CrashAtlas degrades to a WMI-only fallback instead of giving you nothing.
Illustrative sample data — not a live device.
Never claim untested things work.
Every verification claim distinguishes unit-tested, typechecked, and confirmed-on-real-hardware as different, non-interchangeable tiers of confidence — across hundreds of individual features.
| Component | Status | What that actually means |
|---|---|---|
| Minidump parser | Complete | Tested against synthetic fixtures — not yet run on a real Windows .dmp |
| Desktop app | Complete | 805+ unit tests, typechecked, run on real Windows hardware repeatedly |
| Bootable USB tool | Complete at source | Boot-tested end-to-end in QEMU — real hardware boot still open |
